Munich

My name is Anita Vilus. I am 28 and live in Munich, Germany. The 2024 pilgrimage of Croats abroad to Međugorje was a blessed and special experience for me. We travelled by bus; although the journey was long, it was filled with joy and wonderful company.

When we arrived, we had missed Mass, but God provided for that too: in the end we had a Mass just for us pilgrims, celebrated by Fr Mihovil. For me it was one of the most special Masses. We could not join immediately, but once everyone had arrived, Fr Mihovil began the celebration.

On the second day we rose early and went to Cross Mountain. As we climbed, I felt great peace and deep joy. Fr Mihovil blessed us before the cross at the summit.

That day we also had a spiritual retreat with Brother Danijel and Fr Mihovil, including a scapular consecration. We praised the Lord together. In the evening we spent time together and shared our experiences with Jesus. In those encounters I felt the great peace and joy that Our Lady poured into our hearts.

Early on the third day we went to Apparition Hill. Sister Biserka guided us and reflected on the stations along the way. During that walk, some personal questions about life that I had carried for a long time became clearer.

I am grateful to God and Our Lady for calling me to this pilgrimage of Croats abroad to Međugorje, and to the Dobri Pastir community in Munich for organising and making it possible.
